Magnitude 3.0 quake in south Reno
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -A magnitude 3.0 earthquake hit the south Reno area at 10:27 p.m. on Friday, the Nevada Seismological Laboratory reported.
The quake was about 1.3 miles east of Damonte Ranch High School and was about 7.1 miles deep, according to the initial report.
There was another quake of magnitude 1.6 a few seconds later in the same area.
There have been about 40 earthquakes in that area since March 2. The largest was magnitude 3.2 on March 5. Only seven were a magnitude 2.0 or greater.
